Is it mandatory to wear a wetsuit (or dry suit) when taking windsurfing lessons in the summer?
Everyone seems to wear one. I look fat in one. I don’t want to wear one.

Depending on where you are, the water in some places is really cold and it is even colder when you get wet and the stand up again in the wind. Believe me, when you are on the water people don’t really care what you look like that much. It’s about dressing smartly not fashionably. It’s not really manadatory though, but stronly recommended especially when it’s cold.

You can go to Pomona Lake (west from Ottawa) during a weekend, especially if it is windy. In Summer months there is almost always somebody there during weekends

Windsurfing Lessons In Dubai?
Hi I’m looking to begin windsurfing lessons in Dubai, I dont know where to start looking though. Does anyone know of any windsurfing clubs? if so maybe their location?, appox cost? any info u can give me would be greatly appreciated! thanks

From what I read, wind is not that great for experienced windsurfers but can be good for learning and there are several hotels that rent gear and provide lessons. Check this for information:
